SCL Attends Market Day at the Washington Design Center

Salmon-Casson, Ltd was pleased to attend the Washington Design Center (WDC) Market Day that was held in October.  The Market Day featured many keynote speakers, product launches and open houses throughout the WDC.

SCL attended the book signing and presentation by Joni Vanderslice of J. Banks Design at the Kravet showroom.

Joni presented the Tanzania Collection--it's first ever fabric collaboration done with Kravet.  She spoke about her African inspiration which ultimately inspired the creation of The Valentine Project, "a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the orphans of Tanzania".  A portion of the J Banks Collection will be donated to The Valentine Project.

Joni was also celebrating the launch of her first book, "Southern Coastal Living: Stylish Lowcountry Homes", with a book signing.  It is a wonderful book that has design ideas no matter where you live!

SCL also attend the book signing and presentation by Patrick O'Connell from The Inn at Little Washington.  Patrick's presentation was on the history of The Inn.  Although it has been 38 years since The Inn first opened, it was easy to see the passion he still has for it.  Patrick regaled us with stories about the history of The Inn which were full of wonderful memories and details--and laughter.  And, what an infectious laugh Patrick has!

His book, "The Inn at Little Washington:  A Magnificent Obsession", is "the remarkable story of the architecture and interior design of America's most famous country inn and restaurant".

We were also lucky enough to see Patrick on the day that Michelin Washington awarded The Inn at Little Washington two stars.
